Because of its beautiful natural texture and excellent touch, wooden kitchen utensils exude a touch of woody fragrance, giving people a warm and reassuring feeling. They are very popular materials and will enhance the cooking vision.

It's just that wood has many pores in its material, which can easily accumulate moisture, bacteria, dirt, and mold. Therefore, if you want to extend the use time, cleaning and maintenance must take a lot of effort.

If you are also a fan of wooden tableware, please keep in mind the following six maintenance points!

1. Cannot be soaked

Many people are accustomed to soaking tableware in water to make it easier to remove greasy. However, wooden tableware and kitchen utensils cannot be treated in this way. They must be cleaned and dried immediately after use, so that moisture will not penetrate into them and shorten their service life.

2. Don't put it in the dishwasher or dish dryer

Dishwashers have a very bad influence on products because they contain a lot of moisture. Some people even put it in a dish dryer in order to dissipate moisture and moisture as quickly as possible. This tricky method can easily make the product moldy or even deformed, so be careful.

3. Cleaning should be gentle

Wooden tableware is different from other materials. Even the vegetable cloth may damage the surface coating and scratch the wood, making it easier for dirt to stick to the pores.

Therefore, the correct cleaning method is to use a soft sponge, place the kitchen utensils under the water flow, carefully remove the greasy by scrubbing, and then rinse.

The wooden products currently on the market are divided into two types: "painted" and "unpainted". For unpainted products, if you are concerned about dishwashing liquid residue, you can use natural cleaners such as baking soda.

4. Dry immediately after cleaning

It is recommended that the washed wooden tableware and kitchen utensils be wiped dry with a clean paper towel or cloth immediately, and then placed in a cool and ventilated place, and air-dried naturally. At the same time, don't stack them up, but stand on the kitchen utensils rack, keeping a proper distance, so that the moisture will not condense.

For large kitchen utensils such as wooden cutting boards, they should be stored by hanging them up or standing up. Do not lean against the wall or lie flat on the table, so that both sides can be kept dry and not easy to crack and mold.

If you don’t have time to dry, you can use ovens, dish dryers and other equipment appropriately, but don’t bake them directly, but first heat the equipment and turn off the power, then put the wooden kitchen utensils in to use the residual temperature. Dry quickly. This can also avoid mold and deformation.

5. Carefully choose the storage location

After cleaning the wooden tableware and kitchen utensils, be careful not to put them in humid and hot places such as gas stoves, microwave ovens or sinks, and do not expose them to the sun. It should be placed in a cool and dry place, so that it is not prone to deformation and cracking.

6. Simple maintenance

There are many maintenance products for wooden tableware and kitchenware on the market, but as long as we can make good use of some common olive oil and white vinegar in the kitchen, we can also achieve the purpose of maintenance. The method is to adjust the olive oil and white vinegar in a ratio of 2:1, and then apply a clean cotton cloth to the surface of the wood evenly.

Because olive oil has moisturizing properties, it can penetrate deep into the pores and form a protective film on wood fibers; white vinegar has the effect of sterilization and deodorization, and the two can be used together to complete cleaning and maintenance at one time.

Six simple tricks will not take too much time. You can make your wooden products more beautiful and more at ease to use. Let's try it out together.
