Deep clean the oven

Today I will teach you how to clean a greasy oven deeply. There are three difficulties in cleaning the oven: the rusty metal shelf in the oven, the cleaning of the gaps inside the oven, and the heavy dirt in the glass door of the oven. Then come with me to see how to solve these problems!



1. First remove all metal shelves and put them aside. We started to clean the inside of the oven. I plan to divide the inside of the oven into two and compare them with two different cleaning methods. See what is the difference between the cleaning effect on the left and the right?！

Use baking soda on the left, which is more environmentally friendly. The one on the right is cleaned with the special oven cleaner EASY OFF.


2. Pour the baking soda on the left into a container, and then pour water into it to make a paste. (Use half the amount of baking soda). Dip the adjusted baking soda paste with a brush, and apply it to the inside of the oven (I applied it on the left), 
apply it several times, and apply a thicker layer to the oily areas.


3. On the other side, I can spray it evenly with EASY OFF... Now the left and right sides have been sprayed.




So let's ignore the oven now and wait until the next day to clean it. Because the application area on the left soda powder needs to be overnight; the application area on the right EASY OFF needs to stand for more than 6 hours.😃

4. We will deal with the metal shelf below. Put a few pieces of discarded clothes that you don’t usually wear in the bathtub (to protect the bathtub), then block the drain of the bathtub, put in an appropriate amount of hot water, pour in an appropriate amount of laundry detergent or detergent, and soak 6 Hour.

 5. The metal shelf that has been soaked overnight, we wiped it lightly with a steel wire ball, and the stains were easily cleaned off. After a long time of soaking, the stains on the metal shelf are basically dissolved by hot water and detergent, so it becomes easy to wipe.

After a night of standing, let’s take a look at the changes inside the oven: the baking soda and EASY OFF have become very dry.

6. Prepare a sponge and start wiping the left side. The effect of baking soda is still good. If it is not easy to wipe, use a small watering can to spray a little water and then wipe. Wipe several times. The advantage of baking soda is that it is cheap and environmentally friendly. The disadvantage is that it has a lot of powder and needs to be wiped thoroughly. However, baking soda is edible, and even if a little bit remains in the oven, it will not produce radioactive elements. Finally, wipe it several times with a damp fiber cloth.


7. Now we clean the right side, the EASY OFF effect is also good, almost the same as the cleaning effect of baking soda. The advantage is that there is no powder and the cleaning is more convenient. The disadvantage is that it is not environmentally friendly and requires repeated wiping with a damp fiber cloth. Many times (to prevent chemical residues).

8. There are a lot of heavy oil stains on the inner door of the oven glass. You can scrape it with a dough cutter. ( Metal cutting knife can be used on glass ). The cutting knife is relatively thin and it is very convenient to scrape the stains on the surface of the glass or in the gaps of the glass. Places other than glass can be cleaned with a scraper made of plastic.


9. Finally, clean the glass door outside the oven. It is best to unscrew the screws around the glass door and remove the glass door. We can see a lot of oil stains on it.Wipe it with a sponge with a double-sided steel ball and damp it with dish soap.


10. Prepare a flat long ruler, wrap it in wet paper towels, and tie them up with rubber bands. Reach in through the gap to scrub.



Finally, after cleaning all these, we install the oven door back and place the metal shelf, the above is all the steps. The stainless steel surface outside the oven can be gently wiped with a wet paper towel or kitchen paper towel.
