The other substances stuck on may look like scratches, but in most cases they can be removed.

Cleaning the iPhone is the first thing first. Make sure to unplug it from any power source or from the wireless charging system. Then, before cleaning the device, turn it off completely.

If your iPhone comes in contact with any lotions, acidic foods, cleaners, cosmetics, dirt or sand, you need to want to act faster. Wipe them as soon as possible with a damp cloth.

Another thing to remember is the charging port of the device. If you have never cleaned up, you may experience charging or data transfer issues. We only need to use wood or plastic toothpicks to gently clean the lint on the port. Do not use any metal or apply excessive pressure, as the contacts of the port may be damaged in the process.

Of course, if you happen to get sand or dust on the charging port of your device, toothpick cleaning is not appropriate. In these cases, we only need to use the air blower used by the camera. The speaker grill of the device is one of the last places to be cleaned. It is recommended that users use tape or an old electric toothbrush.


Cleaning iPhone: Error

Avoid using chemicals. Anything that is not water can damage your iPhone, reduce its water resistance or wear out the oleophobic coating. Stick to a slightly damp cloth or dry cloth.

Do not use abrasive towels or cloths. You need to target something soft, preferably a soft cloth made for the camera lens or monitor.

Know the waterproof rating of your iPhone. Not all iPhones are waterproof. Small amounts of liquid can also cause serious problems for older Apple phones. Generally, avoid submerging the iPhone during the cleaning process.

Please note that there are some exceptions to the chemical rules: iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro. According to Apple, these devices can be safely used with warm soapy water. But we still strongly recommend not to use any chemicals that are harsher than mild soap.
